BAE Systems Hawk
First flown in August 1974 the Hawk T1 entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1976 as its fast jet trainer. Today the Hawk continues to serve as the primary fast jet trainer with the RAF and is also flown with 100 Squadron the agressor squadron of the RAF.
Since 1976 the aircraft has continued to evolve and been adopted by many countries not only as a training aircraft but as a multi role combat aircraft, Its latest version the Hawk 200 Series is radar equipped and can carry a wide variey of weapons. Countries currently operating the Hawk include United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Finland, Oman, and Malaysia.
Most famously the BAE Systems Hawk T1 has been adopted by the Royal Air Force display team 'The Red Arrows' who display nine aircraft regularly enthralling crowds with their high precision inovative displays. More recently the Hawk has been taken up by the Saudi Air Force display team
'The Saudi Hawks'.
Mounted on a solid silver stand the dynamic nature of the Hawk in flight is elegantly captured emphasising its classic lines.
