  Britains first jet aircaft using the jet engine designed by Frank Whittle.

  Supermarine Spitfire Mk I
  The first Mark of this classic fighter as it flew in the Battle of Britain in
  the summer of 1940.

  Fairey Swordfish Mk I
  Known as the 'Stringbag' the Swordfish was the Royal Navy's main
  torpedo bomber during the early years of World War II.

  Focke Wulf Fw 189A-1
  This twin boomed reconaisance aircraft was used extesively by the
  Luftwaffe on the Eastern front.

  Focke Wulf Ta 152 H-1
  Designed by Kurt Tank this was the high altitude fighter variant of the   famous Fw 190 series of aircraft from World War II.

  Hawker Hurricane Mk I
  The classic fighter of the RAF from the Battle of Britain, flown by many   famous aces including Squadron Leader Douglas Bader.

  North American P-51D Mustang
  One of the most widely used twin turboprop aircraft in service today,
  with over 6,000 aircraft produced in 17 variants.

  Republic P-47D Thunderbolt
  Also known as the 'Jug' the thunderbolt was a formidable ground attack   aircraft flown by the americans in World War II.

  Supermarine Spitfire Mk I
  The first Mark of this classic fighter as it flew in the Battle of Britain in
  the summer of 1940.

  Supermarine Spitfire Mk VB
  Fitted with cannon and machine guns the Mk VB was widely used during
  World War II by the RAF.

  Supermarine Spitfire Mk VC
  The Mk VC differed in its wing armament from the Mk VB whilst using
  the tried and tested Mk V airframe.

  Supermarine Spitfire Mk VIII
  The Spitfire MK VIII aws fitted with the two stage Merlin engine and was
  used in both the European and Far East theatres in WW II.

  Supermarine Seafire Mk L2C
  This was the carrier based variant of the Spitfire Mk VC and was fitted
  with a four blade propellor.

  Avro Lancaster B Mk I
  The RAF's most famous bomber of World War II of which only two flying
  examples survive today.
